Key Responsibilities
- Participate in the end-of-day Profit & Loss (P&L) production process, including data extraction, reconciliation, validation, and variance analysis across assigned financial products.
- Perform daily controls, reviews, and investigations of financial data across multiple systems to ensure completeness and accuracy.
- Identify, investigate, and resolve discrepancies relating to trade bookings, market data, corporate actions, cash movements, and off-market transactions.
- Support P&L attribution and explain daily movements by analyzing market and trade-related drivers.
- Liaise closely with Front Office traders, Middle Office, Operations, and other stakeholders to resolve P&L queries, trade breaks, and booking issues on a timely basis.
- Maintain accurate documentation of investigations, adjustments, and resolutions in accordance with audit and control requirements.
- Assist in the preparation and maintenance of desktop procedures, control documentation, and operating manuals to ensure compliance with governance standards.
- Support month-end and period-end close activities, including journal preparation, account reconciliations, balance sheet substantiation, and financial reporting schedules.
- Assist in preparing commentary and analysis on key P&L drivers for management review.
- Contribute to process improvement initiatives, control enhancements, and automation opportunities to improve reporting efficiency and accuracy.
- Ensure compliance with internal policies, accounting standards, regulatory requirements, and operational risk frameworks.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 1 year experience in Product Control, Financial Control, P&L Reporting, Market Risk, Finance Operations, Audit, or a related function within the banking or financial services industry.
- Good understanding of financial markets, capital markets products, and banking operations.
- Familiarity with P&L reporting, reconciliations, accounting principles, and financial controls.
- Excellent analytical and numerical skills with the ability to investigate and resolve complex data issues.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data analysis techniques.
- Experience working with financial reporting systems, trading platforms, or data management tools is good to have.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to interact effectively with Front Office, Middle Office, and Finance teams.
- Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of financial products such as equities, fixed income, foreign exchange, derivatives, or structured products is good to have.
